Mattress Review Logo

Mattress reviews are an important part of your mattress purchase research. They give you information you can't find from manufacturers or stores, and share other's reactions and experiences to their mattress purchases. You can use mattress reviews to help you narrow your selection between mattress styles, like inner spring, latex, futon, or air mattresses, and then among the different manufacturers of the mattress style you settle on. Read them on the internet and ask friends and family about their mattress thoughts as you shop for your next mattress.

How to choose a mattress for your child

Children should sleep from 8 to 11 hours per night so it's very important to choose high quality mattress for them. Adequate support for their growing spine is the most important. That doesn't mean you should buy very hard mattress but also not very soft so their bones and ligaments can normally grow. Medium will ensure enough comfort to feel cozy and contour to the lower back but still good support that will give them good back support and support their spine as they get older and grow. The comfort of the mattress is directly connected with quality of their sleep and, regarding that, good health and memory, energy they'll have during day and also how concentrate they'll be on daily activities.

They don't outgrow mattress as fast as shoes or clothes and if it is high quality it can last for at least 10 years. Considering it, you can buy adult size mattress that will last from toddlers to teenage years. It will also be comfortable for you to lay beside while you read bedtime stories to them.

Depending on how much money you want to spend you can choose open coil, pocket coil, memory or latex foam mattress. Latex foam is hypoallergenic, comfortable, anti-bacterial, durable and that's why it may be the best choice but they are most expensive one.

Lately many children suffer from allergies and if that is the case with your child or you want extra protection you should buy antibacterial mattress or at least hypoallergenic antibacterial mattress cover. It's common for children to sometimes accidentally wet the bed during the night so there are waterproof covers that also protects against bacteria and prevent odor. They are very practical because you can machine wash and dry it.

Buying new mattress can be interesting family activity. If your child is old enough he can go and try it in the store and help you to choose the right and most comfortable one. If you plan to also buy new sheets your child can choose pattern which he likes the most so he'll like his new mattress even more.
